The Ohio State Highway Patrol Portsmouth Post has released the name of the individual involved in a crash on State Route 139 in Scioto County on Monday. The individual involved was Jason Compton, 41 of Portsmouth.
Sergeant John Howard of the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol told the Daily Times on Monday.
Compton was headed northbound on State Route 139, pulling a trailer.
“He drove off the right side of the roadway and into a very deep culvert. At that point, he lost the trailer,” Howard said.
He said Compton was able to get onto the road, driving roughly another half mile on the wrong side of the road. He then drove off the roadway again hitting a guard rail and a tree before overturning in a field.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at the scene, the driver was treated by members of the Rubyville Fire Department and Clay EMS, then flown from the scene to Saint Mary’s Medical Center.
The accident remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
