Jonathan M Mosley, 28, of West Portsmouth, has been charged with one count of receiving stolen property, a felony of the fourth degree, a warrant for parole violation, a felony of the fifth degree and a warrant for domestic violence, a misdemeanor of the first degree.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office received a tip that a vehicle was from the city of Portsmouth might be in West Portsmouth. On Oct. 27, deputies responded to Lett Terrace Apartments located at 300 Clayton Court, West Portsmouth.
According to the report, deputy Matt Frantz, along with deputy Kirk Jackson, responded to that location and were able to locate the stolen vehicle. While investigating the complaint a deputy said he observed a male subject who was wearing a lanyard around his neck that had keys on it. Later those keys were reportedly identified as the keys belonging to the stolen vehicle.
Detectives responded to assist in the investigation and while searching the stolen vehicle they said items were recovered matching the description of property that was taken from several vehicles that were broken into in the city of Portsmouth. The Portsmouth Police Department responded to assist with the investigation.
Donini said the property recovered included speakers, stereos, credit cards, fishing rods, amplifiers, tackle boxes, tablets, and cell phones along with other items. The victims have been notified and the property has been returned to the six victims.
Mosley is currently being held in the Scioto County Jail without bond and will appear in court at a later date.
Donini said more charges will be presented to a Scioto County grand jury at a later date.
