When you step foot inside Cool Catz Clothing and Sue’s Alterations at 408A Park Avenue, across from the former Golden Corral location in New Boston, you might see some names that are familiar to you such as Nike and Adidas. What you may not recognize are the prices.
“I searched and searched and tried to find jersies cheap enough. They’re Nike Jersies and Adidas, and I wanted to keep the price down low to where a kid maybe doesn’t have $75 for a jersey can buy one for $40,” Bev Evans said. “I’ve got Nike and Adidas pro jersies.”
Bev Evans sells kids clothing for both boys and girls.
“I’ve got a lot of young girls stuff,” Evans said. “I’ve got purses, shoes, and more.”
Her partner is Sue Sines, known the area over for her fine alterations and other items she is known for selling at the Complex in the former West School.
“I do alterations and I’ve still got my balloons,” Sines said. “I’ve got some jewelry and I make wreaths.”
Sines said she makes wreaths for all seasons and other themes and people can bring clothing in for her to do alterations on as well.
“I do wedding dresses, formals, pants, you name it. I do it,” Sines said.
Cool Catz Clothing and Sue’s Alterations is open Monday-Friday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and 11-4 on Saturday.
Evans said the store offers layaway as well.
As you turn off Rhode avenue and head for Harrisonville Avenue, Park Avenue is located in between Rhodes and Gallia Street.
