A Lucasville man has been arrested on a charge of grand theft auto. Robert Henry, 23, of 429 Crow Hollow Road, Lucasville, is facing a charge of one count of theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office received a call on Wednesday Oct. 19, from a delivery driver with Minix Giovanni’s located at 21430 Ohio 73, West Portsmouth stating that somebody had stolen his car.
Donini said Washington Township community policing Deputy Andy Drake responded to that location where a report was filed that included the vehicle being entered in the database as stolen.
While leaving that location, Drake said he observed a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle. He was able to get behind the vehicle and confirm that it was, in fact, the stolen vehicle. Drake activated his lights and made a stop on the vehicle and was able to detain the suspect without incident. The suspect, Henry, was detained and later interviewed. That interview resulted in his arrest.
Henry is currently being held in the Scioto County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
Donini credited the quick recovery of vehicle and arrest of the suspect was being a result of the quick actions of Drake.
