The local Scioto Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) will be holding an election for their Board of Supervisors.
As Supervisors help to guide the work of the Conservation District and provide input into conservation issues throughout Scioto County. This position is an unpaid three year term serving as a Supervisor for the District’s governing board.
The candidates for this election are Paul W. Fuhrmann and Larry McChesney. The election winner will fill the board seat currently held by Dave Gable. Both Mr. Fuhrmann and Mr. McChesney are involved in agriculture in Scioto County and advocates for Conservation. Mr. Fuhrmann and family are the proprietors of Fuhrmann’s Orchards. Mr.McChesney is involved with the Ohio Department of Correction’s farms and also has a family farm here in Scioto County.
The election opens the final week of October for absentee voting.
If you would like to vote in person, the opportunity will be provided at Minford High School, Nov. 15th prior to the Scioto Soil and Conservation District’s annual meeting. Voting will occur from 6-7 p.m. Those eligible to vote must be a resident or land owner in Scioto County and at least 18 years of age or older.
Tickets for the annual meeting are also available for sale, the cost is $15.
