Join the Southern Ohio Museum and Culture Center for this years ’Galactic Gala,’ held Oct. 15.
Located at 825 Gallia Street, the event features a buffet style dinner, an open bar featuring Watershed Distillery. The bar will feature a signature drink, The Super Nova, created for the Museum by Watershed Distillery in Columbus, Ohio. Watershed Distillery prides itself on using Ohio grown ingredients and is reaching out to support community events around the State.
In addition, there will be two virtual reality games. “One is a 3-D virtual reality painting experience that allows you to paint with three dimensional brushstrokes,” said Charlotte Gordon, the Museum’s Artistic Director. “The other is an outer space experience in which you can play ball with the planets. We’ll also have screens will be up so that you can enjoy what others are creating.”
The evening also includes a silent auction, featuring original artwork, a paint-your-own-pottery party, and tickets to zoos and museums around the region and more.
“It will also be featuring a very rare item this year, a baseball signed by the 1937 Portsmouth Redbirds team. It is in good condition and comes with a glass case,” said Gordon.
The annual fundraiser allows the museum to continue to provide the art with top quality exhibits, workshops and concerts.
Guests are encouraged to sport their best galactic attire.
