NEW BOSTON — Relaunch: A Community Event that is set for Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the New Boston Stadium. This free, fun-filled event will offer entertainment, food, and $1,200 in give-away items, according to Scott Hilbert, one of the volunteers for Relaunch 2015.

“Relaunch, A Community Event is an opportunity for our community to gather together and enjoy a great evening,” Hilbert said. “In the New Boston area there is very little in regards to a fair, festival, fireworks or community gathering. Relaunch is trying to fill that void.”

Relaunch materialized as a result of a conversation among some community leaders.

“Relaunch came from an idea some community leaders had one evening earlier this year about having a community event in the New Boston area. We were discussing the fact that there is not an event in the New Boston area that allows for our community to have a good time but not have to travel to another town,” he said. “After that, Relaunch was born. We wanted the event to be focused in New Boston and the New Boston Stadium seemed to be a perfect fit. Being a 1st year event, we felt the name Relaunch describes what we want to see happen in New Boston, a relaunch of the community endeavors.”

Relaunch 2015 is only possible through the efforts of private donors, local business owners, and local churches. He said those interested in attending the event should expect fun, free food, and free music. There will also be free giveaways, inflatables, and fun for all ages.

According to Hilbert, they are anticipating more than 1,000 people to attend Relaunch 2015.

“I honestly have no idea how many people will be at Relaunch. We could have well over a 1,000 by the time the evening finishes. Our community tends to enjoy evenings that are family friendly so I would imagine it will be quite a few people,” he said.” After the local band 47 to Sunrise joined up to headline the concert there has been a lot said through social media. Social media picked up on the event and word started to get around.”

Also to be offered is $1,200 in giveaway items, including a 42-inch inch flat screen TV, gift cards and many other giveaways.

“We have the four largest inflatables available in Scioto County and the best part is everything is free. Because of community support the entire event is free. Admission is free, food is free, inflatables are free and the live music is free. New Boston is a terrific community that has some amazing people who want this event to be successful,” he said.

There will also be local business, organization, church or other association set up to promote themselves. He said Relaunch is a great way to let the community see what is available within walking distance. There is no charge to set up a table.
