The Southern Ohio Museum And Cultural Center in collaboration with the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music are having the Jazz Fridays series.
A Cincinnati-based jazz group Braza Trio, will be performing at the Southern Ohio Museum as part of their ongoing Jazz Fridays performance series, on October 12th, at 7 pm. Influenced by regional Brazilian music, classical music and jazz, the Cincinnati based group presents sophisticated arrangements that mix modernity and tradition.
The group is comprised of pianist Thiago Camargo, bassist Kevin McClellan, and drummer Matt McAllister. Camargo, a native of São Paulo, Brazil, came to the US to study jazz. McAllister and McClellan lived and studied music in Brazil. They mix samba, baião, and choro genres to create an interactive, yet traditional Brazilian sound. Influenced by Regional and Folk Brazilian Music, Classical Music and Jazz, the Braza Trio presents sophisticated arrangements that mix modernity and tradition.
The Museum galleries are open during and after the performance with drinks and refreshments available.
Admission to the concert is $6 for students, seniors and museum members, and $8 for the general public. Museum Patron Members and children under 12 are free.
