THURSDAY, April 11

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS—The Scioto County Commissioners will meet in regular session at 9:30 a.m., on the third floor of the Scioto County Courthouse, 602 Seventh St., Portsmouth. The commissioners meeting is also livestreamed on their Facebook page.

SCOESC BOARD—The South Central Ohio Educational Service Center will meet in regular session at 1 p.m., at the SCOESC Business Center, 3879 Rhodes Ave., New Boston.

SCCTC BOARD—The Scioto County Career Technical Center Board of Educaton will conduct its regular monthly meeting at 4 p.m. in the Taylor Building, 952 Vern Riffe Drive, Lucasville.

FRIDAY, April 12

SPAY-GHETTI DINNER—Help Cabin Critters Rescue by buying a spay-ghetti dinner between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 221 Court St., Portsmouth. Take out and delivery are available. Meal includes: spaghetti with a choice of sauce, green beans, side salad, role with butter.

BENEFIT FOR HELENA ESPINOZA—Benefit dinner for Valley High School junior Helana Espinoza, who is battling juvenile pancreatic cancer. The dinner is sponsored by Sonora’s and will be dine in or carry out. Event runs 4 to 7 p.m., at the VHS cafeteria. Live music at 5:30. The menu will be Pollo Bandito, beans, rice, chips and salsa. The suggested donation is $15. Tickets can be purchased in the school district offices, from choir members or by using the QR code.

SATURDAY, April 13

THE AWAKENING—Live music, art gallery and a large array of vendors from pottery to massage therapy, handmade crafts to intuitive healers. Live music with admission price of $10 per person cash at the gate. Food vendors will be on site at the Pike County Fairgrounds. Event begins at 10 a.m. Saturday and runs through 6 p.m., Sunday, April 14.

CAR SHOW—The Central Church Student Ministry Car Show begins with registration at 11 a.m., and the show itself is noon to 3 p.m. at Central Church Portsmouth, 1211 Grandview Ave., Portsmouth. Registration is $10. Concessions on site. Proceeds go to Central Church’s student ministry.

PIE SOCIAL—Join the Oldtown Fire Department, 43 Oldtown Lane, Greenup, Ky., for a pie social. Event begins at 6 p.m.
