The Portsmouth Area Arts Council will be hosting a Harry Potter themed ‘Wizarding Weekend’ through May 7. Events will take place Fri. 5-10 p.m., Sat. Noon-10 p.m. and Sun. 2-7 p.m. Admission is free, and concessions will be available to purchase. For more information, please call 740-351-3642.

Main Street Portsmouth will be bringing back their ‘Street Art Saturday’ (SAS) event, saunter down Second Street and admire live music, local art and shopping. SAS is held from 2-5 p.m.

Southern Ohio Medical Center and Hereos 4 Higher LLC will be sponsoring a ‘Touch-A-Truck,” event at Spartan Municipal Stadium from 2:30-4:30 p.m.

The Cult Classic Creatures will be presenting the 1988 favorite, your ghost with the most Beetlejuice with LIVE shadow cast. Showtime will be at 8 p.m. at the RoNa Theatre on 3rd Street in Ironton, Ohio.

The Ohio Democratic Party will be hosting a Southern Ohio Blue Cocktail Hour at IBEW 575, 110 Offnere Street in Portsmouth from 5:30-7 p.m. Guest speaker Jerry Springer will also be present. Tickets are $25 per attendee and are available at

The Community Action Organization will be hosting a Mom’s Club meeting at 411 2nd Street from 1-2 p.m. Mom’s Club is a support group to mothers come together with their breastfeeding and motherhood problems. Discussion topics include: breastfeeding with thyroid issues, hep. C, and polycystic ovary syndrome.
