Northwest High School hosted its Basketball Homecoming January 13, 2017.
The Freshman attendant was Jordan Glenn, the daughter of Jerry and Becky Meeker of Lucasville and Brian Glenn of Chesapeake. Her escort was Braden Taylor, son of Jason and Kellie Taylor of Otway. Jordan has participated in color guard, attends church regularly and enjoys hanging out with friends.
The Sophomore attendant was Sydnie Jenkins. Sydnie is the daughter of Dana and Andrea Jenkins of Lucasville. Her escort was Brandon Hobbs, son of Angie and Jody Hobbs of Otway. Sydnie has participated in soccer, basketball, band, and honors club. She attends Hills Chapel Church.
The Junior Vocational Attendant was Sarah Ellis. Sarah is the daughter of Keli Ellis and TJ Ellis, both of Lucasville. Sarah attends the Scioto County Career and Technical Center and is enrolled in the Dental Assistant program. Her escort was Kaleb Smith, son of Leigh Ann Smith of McDermott and Danny and Nadia Smith of McDermott.
Also representing the Junior Class was Magen McClurg. Magen is daughter of Donya McClurg of Rarden and Ronnie McClurg of Lucaville. Magen has participated in basketball and track for three years and she attends Faith and Fellowship Church. Her escort was Austin Speer, son of Heidi Breech of McDermott.
The Senior Vocational Attendant was MaCayla Ross. MaCayla is the daughter of Jennifer Lambert of Otway. MaCayla attends the Scioto County Career and Technical Center and is enrolled in the Medical Office Management program. She enjoys shopping and hanging out with her friends and family. Her escort was Dustin Taylor, son of Mark and Amanda Taylor of Rarden.
The Senior attendant was Ally Gordon. Ally is the daughter of Trudy Strickland and Steven Gordon, both of Lucasville. Ally has participated in the Memory Project and is a 4-year member of the mixed choir. Ally’s escort was Tyler Webb, son of Darren and Tabby Webb of Otway.
The 2017 Basketball Homecoming Queen was Miss Taylor Barlow.
Taylor is the daughter of John and Candace Barlow of Rarden.
Escorting the Queen were Chase McClay, son of David and Sarah McClay of Lucasville and Braxton Marcum, son of Amy and Scott Marcum of McDermott.
While attending Northwest High School, Taylor has been a 4-year member of the marching and concert bands, a 2-year member of the select choir, and she serves as the senior class president.
Crown Bearer for the evening was Pierce Yates, son of Darcey Smith and Jonathon Maynard of McDermott. Flower girl for the evening was Sophia Barlow, daughter of Leah Barlow of Seaman and Jerry Barlow of Rarden. They were escorted by Emma Pertuset.
