Girls Night Out

How about a night out with the girls with the chance to win a beautiful handbag? That’s exactly what the Pediatric Occupational Therapy Department at Compass Community Health Care Center has scheduled for Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 7 p.m. at the Notre Dame Community Center (formerly the CAY).

One of the highlights will be the Designer Bag BINGO event to benefit the Pediatric OT Department. The event will feature a fun evening of BINGO with the opportunity to win beautiful handbags and shop unique local vendors, all while enjoying delicious refreshments.

“This event will generate much needed funding to support the non-profit Pediatric OT program with equipment, supplies, assessments, and more,” Gina Collinsworth, Director Community Relations and Development, said. “We have some of the designer purses already donated by area businesses and community partners. We would like to invite people to join with other corporate partners, businesses and individuals who have donated designer bags, gift cards and other exciting prizes to help make this event and signature fundraising effort a huge success.”

Collinsworth said Compass Community Health Pediatric OT specializes in helping children with sensory disorders, Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Dyspraxia, general developmental challenges and other various learning difficulties.

“Since the beginning of the Pediatric OT Program in 2012, we have developed a fully equipped sensory gym that is visually appealing, cheerfully engaging and fun,” Collinsworth said. “The gym is designed to engage children of all ages and help them meet goals in the areas of strength, movement, sensory-processing, self-care skills, attention, and social interaction. Our gym features numerous interactive and therapeutic items such as suspended equipment and swings, crash mats and pillows, hands-on games and puzzles, therapeutic listening devices, iPad apps and Xbox Kinect games.”
