The case between JoAnna Krohn and the SOLACE organization has been dismissed.

In an order signed by both sides and Judge Howard Harcha III, dated March 28, 2016, the case was dismissed under conditions.

The Daily Times reached out to both sides of the issue, Krohn provided a written statement. SOLACE referred the request for a statement to their attorney Rick Faulkner who was unavailable until next week. Watch the Daily Times next week for a follow-up article addressing the issue with him.

“Since the death of my son eight years ago, I have worked to help others overcome substance abuse and help families who have lost someone to a drug related death. I have dedicated myself to creating and building something that could help people,” Krohn said. “I founded SOLACE, Inc as an organization in memory of my son Wes Workman, and it deeply affects me that I am no longer a part of what I had worked so hard to build.”

Within the dismissal Krohn agreed to not have direct contact with any current SOLACE, Inc., employee, agent, or board member. She agreed to not have direct contact with any current SOLACE, Inc, Inc. activities, enter the premises of SOLACE, Inc., located at 1603 11th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662.

She agreed not to post any disparaging and/or derogatory comments regarding SOLACE Inc., on any form of social or physical media and shall not hold herself out as a representative of SOLACE Inc., in any fashion whatsoever and shall close and delete the SOLACE Inc., Facebook account.

“I feel that the resolution that was reached regarding this protection order will help to put this matter to rest including to rest the fact there are no pending charges against me,” Krohn said. “This has been an incredibly difficult time for myself and my family and I believe this agreement will alleviate the burden I have been carrying as a result of this. Most importantly, this resolution will allow me to continue on my mission to fighting the drug epidemic in our community with the goal that no person endures the type of loss that I carry with me every day. I remain dedicated to this cause and will never cease in my efforts to see it through to conclusion.”

Within the dismissal Krohn reserved the right to participated in drug free/community, substance abuse functions in the community.
