The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Wednesday and that advisory is in effect through 7 p.m.. The forecast calls for rapidly accumulating snowfall with accumulations expected to be in the 1 to 2 inches range.
The front is expected to begin by daybreak west of Cincinnati and quickly spread eastward, ending in the afternoon. The NWS says the accumulation will cause travel difficulties due to reduced visibility and snow accumulations. The snow was expected to start around the morning commute which would make driving more difficult.
While the snow will let up Wednesday evening, a larger front is expected to hit the area Friday with more accumulations.
The NWS reminds residents a winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primary travel difficulties and urges motorists to be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibility and to use caution while driving.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini announced that a level one (1) snow emergency has been declared for Scioto County effective at 9:35 a.m. on Wednesday.
Captain Shawn Sparks said a level one (1) snow emergency means that county, city and township roads are hazardous and drivers should drive cautiously. With our current local conditions, snow and ice is sticking to overheads, bridges, and rural roads as a result of the quickly changing weather conditions. Drivers are urged to drive very carefully due to rapid changes in the weather.
