JAMES DUCKETT

James Lee Duckett, 66, of Portsmouth passed away December 25, 2015 at SOMC. He was born February 13, 1949, in Portsmouth; a son of the late William Arthur and Elizabeth E. Brown Duckett. He was a retired custodian from the Scioto County Career Technical Center with 20 years of service. A member of the Seventh Street Christian Baptist Church, was an Vietnam era Army veteran, a member of James Dickey Post 23 of the American Legion, and the DAV.

Jim is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Hamilton Duckett whom he married in Portsmouth, February 24, 1964; his daughter Jennifer Lynn (Fred) Scarberry of Portsmouth; three sisters Nancy Arunotong of Portsmouth, Debbie Duckett of Portsmouth, and Carol Khatib of Utah; and three grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his son, James L. Duckett, Jr. and brother, William Duckett.

Funeral services will be Monday at 12 p.m. at the RALPH F. SCOTT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth with Pastor Lisa Crawford officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Interment will be in the Garvin Cemetery with military graveside services by the James Dickey Post 23 of the American Legion.
