A medical emergency is likely the cause of a crash in which a Virginia man died. The Ohio State Highway Patrol post in Chillicothe, is investigating a one vehicle crash on U.S. 35 in Ross County.

Ernest C. Sperber II, age 58, from Wytheville, Virginia was operating a 2008 Toyota Sequoia, westbound on U.S. 35 when he apparently started having a medical emergency. His vehicle reportedly drove off the right side of the roadway, striking a fence and a tree.

When troopers arrived on the scene they performed CPR in an attempt to revive Sperber. He was transported from the scene by Scioto Township EMS to the Adena Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

Natural causes is suspected as cause of death. The Scioto Township Fire and Rescue EMS units assisted on the scene.
