Scioto County Habitat for Humanity (SCHFH) will hold a yard sale at their general office location on Murray Street in Portsmouth on Saturday, Aug.22, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Nancy Donnini, SCHFH fundraising committee chairperson, said they will have a lot of items to choose from for purchase at Saturday’s yard sale.

“We are in the Sole Choice building that is formerly Mitchellace. Our address is Murray Street, but we are actually on Gallia Street, directly across the street from Hutchins,” Donnini said. “We will have a lot of items to purchase, such as furniture, glass ware, televisions, clothing, appliances, children’s books and more. There is also a Christmas tree, a kids desk and chair and a little bench,”she said. There are TV’s, and they all work, as far as we know, and they are not very expensive.”

According to Donnini, all of the proceeds from the yard sale will go towards their ongoing projects to offer housing.

“Our next house will be in New Boston on Stanton Avenue, so hopefully we will be getting started with that some time in September,” she said.

According to Donnini, the family has been selected for the Stanton Avenue home. She also said they are looking forward to hosting the yard sale, and are hopeful that the community will come out and support their efforts.
