Hill View Health Care was recognized recently by U.S. News and World Report as one of the best nursing homes in Ohio for 2015.

Kathy Vogler, admission director for Hill View Health Care, said they are delighted about the recognition, and that it is important to their residents.

“This recognition is important to our residents, because this is our residents’ home. We are known for our atmosphere, our food, our home cooking, our decorations, and our staffing, how they take care of our residents here,” Voglers said.

According to Vogler, Hill View Health Care has a combination of 64 short-term and long-term residents.

Each nursing home receives an overall rating of one to five stars, based on it’s number of stars in categories according to State conducted health inspector, how much time nurses spend with residents and the quality of medical care. The Data Foundation for Best Nursing Homes comes from the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.

Vogler said there is a misconception about Hill View regarding the population of people that they serve.

“We have always been known as Hill View being for the rich, and that we only take care of our own people, and that is not true by no means,” she said. “We do except people from the community. We do host marketing events with our independents and invite them into the community from the outside so that they can see our the operation of our facility first hand.”

Overall, she said Hill View is an exceptional place to both reside and to work.

“The residents are wonderful, they are friendly. Hill View is just a great place overall, it is a great place to work at. Everyone should come and visit. If you have not been to Hill View, and you’d like to take a tour, then you can just call us,” she said.
