Army veteran Nick Goodwin, of The Goodwin Group, recently open a local office for ADT Security Systems, as well as Direct TV and Dish Satellite services. He said this is the first ADT Security Systems office in the area, and he believes with his background in law enforcement and Army Special Forces gives him a unique perspective on security.

“We are southern Ohio’s local authorized ADT Dealer. When people deal with us they’re going to get local service backed by a global security company,” Goodwin said.

He said ADT has over seven million consumers worldwide with cutting edge technology, designed to keep you safe. Goodwin said before The Goodwin Group opened two weeks ago, ADT Security Systems were not offered locally.

He said there has been a few people visit their Scioto Trail location to see what they have to offer.

“Primarily we’ve been going door-to-door, introducing ourselves around Portsmouth, letting people know we’re here,” Goodwin said.

Goodwin is also an Army veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq.

“I worked in the Sheriff’s Office for about seven years, left and started an insurance office in Ashland, Kentucky. I worked my way up to vice president of sales, after I came home from Afghanistan, the last time, two years ago, I was done traveling. My office was in Dallas, Texas, and I flew out of Columbus every week,” Goodwin said. “I was looking for something to do locally and I got with ADT and they said they would love to put a branch in southern Ohio to cover the tri-state area.”

Goodwin said he also spent 12 years in the U.S. Army Special Operations.

“What makes us unique is when I tell folks we do security consulting. I can use my background in law enforcement and special operations, I’m able to bring that experience with me,” Goodwin said.

Goodwin said having someone with this background comes in handy when it comes to home security.

Through ADT, Goodwin said they are able to provide everything from a basic security system to an advanced security system.

“We can do security, fire home automation. We can do everything from burglary intrusion all the way up to home automation, cameras, automated lights and door locks. We can set it up to where you could lock your doors when you’re not home,” Goodwin said. “Locking doors and camera’s can be monitored from a smart phone. We offer that and its industry leading.”

Goodwin said those that choose an ADT security system for their home or business can be assured of the company’s reputation and reliability.

“There are also medical pendants, if they can’t get to a phone, they can press this button and dispatch an ambulance or medical personnel right to them,” Goodwin said.

When it comes to Direct TV and Dish Satellite services, he said they can help people save money on their cable bill through a variety of options.
