A Wheelersburg man reported missing by Greene County authorities has been found safe in Columbus.

John E. Farrell, 87, of Turkey Foot Road, the subject of the Silver Alert from Greene County, Ohio has been located by the Columbus Police Department.

“Mr. Farrell is safe and uninjured,” Greene County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Beth Prall said. “His family is on their way to pick him up as we speak. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all of the law enforcement agencies who aided in this search as well as all of the citizens who called in sightings. A special thank you to Officer West of the Columbus Police Department for locating Mr. Farrell.”

Authorities said Farrell left his home on Tuesday to travel to Jamestown, Ohio, where he was to pick his brother up to go fishing at Caesar Creek State Park.
