Paul Thompson, 76

Paul L. Thompson, 76, of West Portsmouth died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at SOMC Hospice. He was born on Oct. 31, 1936, in Portsmouth to the late Elmer and Chloe Williams Thompson. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Webb Thompson whom he married Aug. 3, 1956.

He was an Operator Engineer and worked at Boone Coleman Construction, and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 18. He was a member of the Dry Run Church of Christ, he also loved restoring and showing old cars.

He is survived by three daughters; Ginger (David) Hall, and Paula (Randy McGraw) Thompson both of West Portsmouth and Terri (Rase) Martin of Lucasville. four Grandchildren; Tanya (Chris) Copp of Lucasville, Alex Phipps of West Portsmouth, Tyler Phipps of Minford and Christian Martin of Lucasville, three Great Grandchildren; Lauren and Emma Copp, and Eli Phipps, two sisters; Janet Keys, and Connie Murphy both of West Portsmouth, two Brother In-laws; John Webb, and Lee Webb of West Portsmouth and a sister in-law Barbara Coleman of Wheelersburg.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mark Seevers officiating and interment in Friendship cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice in Paul’s name.
