Frederick Hock, 81

Frederick Anthony Hock, 81, of Portsmouth died Nov. 23, 2012 at SOMC Hospice. He was born Aug. 23, 1931, at Portsmouth to the late Edward and Philomena Thieken Hock. Fred was retired from Aristech Chemical as a chemical operator. He was an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife Betty Ann Born Hock; his children Sharon Rose Boggs of Titusville, Fla., Theresa Hock of Birmingham, Ala., Michael Hock of Pittsburgh, Pa., John Hock of Circleville, Ohio, Karen Hopper of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Kathy DelMastro of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter Mary Beth Green, a brother Joseph Hock, and a sister Rita Hock.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter In Chains Catholic Church with The Rev. Joseph Yokum officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Friends may call at Melcher Funeral Home from

5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Recitation of The Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Melcher Funeral Home. There will be Military Graveside Rites by the James Dickey, Post 23, American Legion.
