Ruby Parker, 66

Ruby Louise Parker, 66, of Portsmouth, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at SOMC in Portsmouth.

She was born Sept. 11, 1946, in Portsmouth to the late Jasper and Dova (Bell) Roe. She was a homemaker and a member of Community Church of Jesus Christ, where her husband is pastor.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald L. Parker, four children, Gerald Parker Jr of Portsmouth, Dova Elizabeth Parker of Wheelersburg, Leda Guido of Sciotoville, and Wendy Dancy (Maurice) of Orlando, Fla., seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ruby is also survived by a brother, Joseph Roe of Wheelersburg and four sisters; Judith Spriggs of Dallas, Texas, Linda Russell of Portsmouth, Peggy Agner (Eddie) of, Sciotoville and Brenda Stamper (Don) of Garrison, Ky.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by two siblings who died in infancy.

A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Melcher Funeral Home in Porsmouth, with Elder Richard Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.

Friends may call at Melcher Home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
