Paula Cooper, 53

Paula Burton Cooper, 53, of Portsmouth, died Monday, July 30, 2012, at her residence. A native of Ironton, Ohio, she was born June 30, 1959, to David L. Burton and Pauline Blanton Slocum. Paula enjoyed NASCAR, dirt track racing, football and baseball. She also loved animals. She was preceded in death by infant twin boys.

In addition to her parents, Paula is survived by a son, Shawn Burton of Portsmouth; a daughter, Tisha Hardin of New Boston, Ohio; five grandchildren, Blake, Noah, Devin, Mason and Zoey; two brothers, Michael Burton of Portsmouth and Patrick Burton of Springfield, Va.; two sisters, Carol Stiverson of Murrells Inlet, S. C., and Regina Burton of Jasper, Ga. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth.
