William Brown, 68
William Michael Brown, 68, of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord Monday, July 30, 2012, at home. He was born Aug. 15, 1943, in New Boston, a son of the late James C. Brown and Margaret V. Glass Brown. He was the husband of the late Phyllis S. Brown, and was retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad where he was a Conductor and Brakeman for 35 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran during the Vietnam Conflict. He is survived by his children, Sherry Griffith and husband Martin, of Portsmouth; Jack Sargent, of Wheelersburg; Anthony Brown, of Goose Creek, S.C.; and Julie Brown, of Goose Creek, S.C. He had seven grandchildren, Mike, Jason, Josh, Austin, Chandler, Skylar, Kaitlyn and Kayla, and one great-grandson, Aiden. He was preceded in death by his brother, James E. Brown and one sister, Shirley Gee Brown. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Loren Hardin officiating, with interment at Memorial Burial Park, with military graveside rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
