A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at the funeral home, with Josh Book, Minister, officiating, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. with Eastern Star services to be held at 7:30, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Mrs. Hensley, 90, of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born Aug. 14, 1921, in Sciotoville; a daughter of the late Charles H. Neff and Jewel Carpenter Neff.

As a young girl she played piano for many different churches and loved playing trumpet in the East High Band. She was a member of the Wheelersburg Eastern Star and attended Portsmouth Interstate Business College and Shawnee State University. She was married Feb. 1, 1941, in Ironton, to Verlin H. Hensley, who preceded her in death June 24, 2007.

Surviving are her sister, Janet Nesler, of Sciotoville; her nieces, Kathe Kurtz, of Sciotoville; Valerie Lybarger and husband Jeff, of New Lexington, Ohio; her nephews, Jeff Nesler and wife Stephanie, of St. Louis, MO; and Eric Nesler, of Portsmouth.

The family would like to thank Carol Bussa for all of her wonderful care she has given to Imogene, and the staff of Minford Retirement Center.
