Colleen Purtee, 73

Colleen “Lynn” Purtee, 73, of Rarden went to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the SOMC-Hospice Center, Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born on Dec. 1, 1938, in the state of Kentucky and was the daughter of the late Stanley E. and Virginia Moore and was granddaughter of the late James J. and Lula M. Middleton.

She was united in marriage on Nov. 6, 1960, to Theodore “Ted” Purtee who preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 2000. Surviving are four sons: James H. (Ruby) Jenkins, Theodore Purtee, II, and Stanley E. Purtee all of Rarden, and Charles J. (Donetta) Jenkins of Lucasville, one daughter, Sheryl L. (Mark) Moore of Otway, one brother, Ronald Holley of West Portsmouth, three grandsons, and two granddaughters and family friends, Gerald (Jerry) Chapman. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter.

She attended the Hoffer Hill New Life Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway with Pastor Monty White officiating. Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from noon until 1 p.m.at the funeral home.

She will be sadly missed by family, friends, and the lives she touched through her life’s pathway.
