Robert F. Stiers died at his home in Columbus, Ohio, after a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Kate Stiers of Portsmouth. Surviving are his wife, Patricia; and one son, Michael of Columbus. He is also survived by one sister, Ida, formerly of Santa Monica, Calif., now a Portsmouth resident, and one brother, Phillip of San Diego, Calif.
Rober was a graduate of South Portsmouth High School and attended Santa Monica City College. He was retired from Halmar Electronics.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and final services will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home at 1166 Parsons Ave. in Columbus.
