Charles Edwin Stevenson, 86, of South Shore, Ky., died May 14, 2012, at the South Shore Nursing and Rehab Center in South Shore, Ky. He was born April 13, 1926, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late Winfred Stevenson and Jessie Brown Stevenson.
He was a retired Laboratory Technician for North America Refractories in South Shore, Ky., a member of the South Shore First United Methodist Church, and a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Bayes Stevenson, to whom he married Sept. 13, 1946, they had been married 66 years; one son, Terry Stevenson of Plain City, Ohio; and one daughter, Pamela Thompson of Dayton, Ky.; two sisters, Lois Green of Dayton, Ohio, and Norma Hamilton of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his step mother, Clara Potter Stevenson; two brothers, Ralph Stevenson and Forrest Stevenson; two sisters, Ruth Heustis and Opal Stewart.
Funeral services 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, at the South Shore First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tami Coleman, officiating. Burial in Siloam Cemetery in South Shore, Ky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday and at the church one hour before the services on Friday.
