Robert Joseph Spriggs, 44, of Stout, Oho, died Sunday, May 6, 2012, in Thurman, Ohio, Jackson Co. in a car accident. He was born in Spring Branch, Texas, Jan. 15, 1968, a son of Jerry D. Spriggs and Martha Coombs Spriggs of Stout, Ohio.

He went to be with his heavenly father and his son. He also was a graduate of Portsmouth West High School and JVS in the Class of 1986

He loved farming, being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He is survived by his loyal friend, his dog Sassy. He would help anyone he could in anyway possible.

He was preceded in by his son, R.J. Sprigss, grandparents, George and Thelma Spriggs and Colonel John B. and Mary Catherine Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Hattie Whaley, who he married Dec. 29, 2005, children, are Homer, Josh and Cassie Whaley. Also surviving beside his wife and parents, is his brothers and sisters, Mary and Gary Hughes, Charles and Julia Spriggs, Lana and Kelly Conley, William “Bucky” and Kelly Spriggs, Eric Spriggs and George Spriggs.

Robert had a soft spot in his heart for his nieces and nephews, Cody, Jade, Ryan, Jordan, Tucker and Cameron.

He had a kind heart a gentle spirit and will be sadly missed by those who knew him best.

Funeral services will be at the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in South Shore, Ky., Friday, May 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Father, David Young, officiating.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, Friendship, Ohio.

Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral home from 6 p.m until 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m until the funeral hour on Friday.
