Elizabeth Poplin, 73

Elizabeth (Sis) Mae Poplin, age 73, of Franklin Furnace, died Feb. 23, 2013, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. She was born April 11, 1939, in Franklin Furnace, to the late Ernest Chatfield and Hattie Burke Chatfield.

She was a former fancy stitcher for Williams Shoe Factory, a member of Plymouth Heights Church of the Nazarene and a member of Green Township Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Poplin on Nov. 24, 2000. They were married June 5, 1959, in Scioto County, Ohio.

Surviving are three sons, John (Marsha) Poplin, Chester (Fonda) Poplin and Charles (Brenda) Poplin, one daughter, Beth Poplin, two brothers, Clyde Chatfield and Ralph Chatfield, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jessie Chatfield, Roy Chatfield and Harland Chatfield and one sister, Nettie Branningan.

Funeral services will be conducted, Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the HARRISON-PYLES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Andy Ramey officiating. Burial will be in Haverhill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
