St. Peter’s Over 55 Club met Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, with a covered dish dinner served to 10 persons in attendance. Father Joseph Yokum gave the blessing before the meal. John Pendland, president, led the pledge to the flag, and conducted the meeting.
The secretary’s reports was given and approved. No treasurer’s report was given, due to the absence of the treasurer’s absence.
Mary Book, USSA representative, discussed the HEAP (Winter) program, which will be in effect through March 2013. Book also discussed Freezer Replacement Program to the group. Any and all information related to these two programs may be directed to Book at 740-354-6672.
Book also spoke with the club about scams, and the need to avoid them by not giving out personal information over the phone.
It was also mentioned that an attorney will be at the USSA Senior Center on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Book announced that income tax returns are being prepared by the Potter’s House located on Winchester Ave. in Sciotoville. For details or appointments, call 740-776-4004.
Door prizes were awarded, and the meeting adjourned after saying the Lord’s Prayer.
