Southern Ohio Medical Center’s annual Baby New Year was shared title this year. Fraternal twins Luke William and Dalton Lee were born at 12:08 a.m. and 12:12 a.m. at the inception of the new year.

The New Year brought two bundles of joy to parents Angela and Robert Kilgallion, of West Portsmouth.

Luke William weighed in at four pounds and 12 ounces, while his twin brother, Dalton Lee weighed in at five pounds, five ounces at 12:12 a.m.

The newborn infants were delivered by Dr. George Pettit MD and Dr. Ryan Sandlin DO, nurse Tammy Howerton RNC-OB,

The Kilgallion’s also have a 5-year-old daughter named Gracie, who, according to Mrs. Kilgallion, was very excited about the birth of her new baby brothers.

“She was really excited and nervous and glad that it is over with,” Kilagallion said.

According to Kilgallion, their daughter Gracie expressed a sigh of relief after the babies were born.

“I am glad that I don’t have to worry anymore,” Gracie said.

The babies are in good health, but the family is being cautious.

“They are doing okay, but their oxygen level keeps going down, because when they take their bottles they are forgetting to breathe. So they are going to send them to Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, to just observe them for a while,” Kilgallion said.

Rest seems to be on the docket for the Kilgallions.

“My husband is excited as well, he’s just really worn out,” Kilgallion said.

Kilgallion also said members from both sides of their family were present for the delivery of the twin baby boys to show their support.

According to Kilgallion, delivering the first babies of the new year at SOMC makes the occassion even more exciting and special to she, her husband and family.
