Emma Jean Stone, 84

Emma Jean Stone, 84, of Minford, went to be with her Lord, Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, from Elbrooke Pavilion in Minford.

She was born April 8, 1928, in Lucasville, a daughter of the late Harold Bice and Florence Noel Bice Henry.

Emma was a retired insurance agent, member of Bethany Baptist Church, 1946 Valley High School graduate, and an enthusiastic member of The Shawnee Bear Club.

She is survived by her husband, James Stone of Portsmouth; one daughter Arlene (Chip) Boldman of Minford; one son Earl David (Peggy) Stephens of McConnellsville, Ohio; one brother Eddie (Rose) Henry of West Portsmouth; three sisters, Mary (Fred) Whitesel of Scotia, N.Y., Nancy (Larry) Shay of Columbus; and Ramona Williams of Portsmouth; five step-daughters, Sharon Pick, Kim Bradley, Pat Howell, Linda Seth, and Sherri Mediamolle; one step-son, Dwight Thomas; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several step grand and great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two husbands Earl Stephens Jr. and Eugene Thomas; stepmother Murbel Kent Bice; stepfather Edward Henry; and one step-son Steve Stone.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Bethany Baptist Church with Pastor Al Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and an hour before the funeral Monday at the church.
