Thelma Jones, 72
Thelma Grace Jones, 72, of S.R. 348, Otway, went to be with Jesus Nov. 16, 2012, at her residence. She was born Sept. 13, 1940. in West Union, Ohio; a daughter of the late Marion and Vera Reed Stamper. On Oct. 4, 1958, she was united in marriage to Pastor Jerry L. Jones who preceded her in death Jan. 1, 2006.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky Lee Jones of Blue Creek, Ohio, and Jerry Dean Jones and wife Heather of Otway, two daughters, Cindy Nichols and husband David of Otway, and Judy Emery and husband Stanley of Otway, one daughter in law, Carmen Storer of Lynchburg, Ohio, fourteen grandchildren, Glenn and Alisha Essman, Kayla Nichols, Jason, Nina, Matthew, and Aaron Jones, Austin Storer, Carey and Nikki Jones, Destiny and Gunner Emery, and Kali and Chelsi Jones, six great grandchildren, Dylan, Carter, and Keaton Essman, and Dominic, Gabriel, and Jasmine Jones, four brothers, Dean Stamper and wife Ada of West Union, Ohio, Bob Stamper and wife Debbie of Seaman, Ohio, Terry Stamper of Blue Creek, Ohio, and Roger Stamper of Lynx, Ohio, and one sister, Sharon Smith of West Union, Ohio.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son Dennis Wayne Jones. She was a former employee of Shawnee Lodge, was a member of the Tick Ridge Community Church, the Rush Free Baptist Church, and was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Tick Ridge Community Church with Pastor Matt Phipps officiating. Burial will follow in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Otway, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
