Alka Howard, 91

Alka Mae Howard, 91, of Minford, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at her residence. Born June 2, 1921, in Deering, Ohio; she is the daughter of the late John and Katherine Barry Thompson, she was a Nurse’s Assistant, former employee of Ma Perry’s in Wheelersburg and attended Central Church of Christ.

She is survived by six sons, Russell (Ann) Howard of Georgia, Richard (Sue) Howard of McDermott, Louie Howard of Georgia, Robert Howard of Minford, John (Kay) Howard of Minford, Larry Howard of Amanda; three daughters, Connie Angel of Amanda, Sue (Tim) Morgan of Tennessee, Betty (Glen) McDaniel of Circleville; grandsons, David, John, Scott, Tommy, Brian, Jeremy, Justin, Roger, John, Curtis, Larry Joe, Timothy; granddaughters, Donna, Pamela, Michelle, Christy, Sheila, Kim, Lisa, Joleen, Bobbie Lou, Brittney, Tammie, Dina, Jennifer, Tiffany, Vanessa; numerous great grandchildren, and many great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Landon Howard on Nov. 22, 1971; two sons, Rick Howard, Otis Howard, one daughter, Joyce; granddaughter, Pam Angel, and a great granddaughter, Ravin Salyers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Dennis Dawes officiating. Burial will be in Stockdale Cemetery.
