Robert Dishon, 88
Robert Eugene Dishon, 88, of Lucasville, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Chillicothe VA Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 3, 1923, in New Straitsville, Ohio, a son of the late William and Ivy Crawford Dishon.
Bob was a retired Meat Manager for the Big Bear Corporation, a US Navy WWII veteran, and a 1943 New Straitsville High School graduate. Bob was a member of the Scioto Baptist Church and a former Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the William A. Baker Post of the American Legion and a retired Auxiliary Patrolman with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Post 73.
He is survived by three sons, Robert E. Dishon Jr. of Springfield, Rodney (Linda) Anderson of Piketon, and Doug (Angie) Anderson of Lucasville; one daughter Vickie (Jim) Blain of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren, William, Joe, Amanda, Roddy, Grant, Brandon, Terri, and Shawn; six great grandchildren, two, Audrey and Alizye who were like his own; one brother, Carl Marietta Dishong; one sister, Lois Bower of Los Angeles, Calif.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mauney Lee Crisel Dishon, Feb. 15, 2011; four brothers Harry, Richard, Ben, and Stanley Dishon; and two sisters, Gertrude and Helen.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at the Scioto Baptist Church on Cockrell’s Run Road, with Major Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Cemetery where graveside military rites will be performed by the William A. Baker and James Irwin Posts of the American Legion. Friends may call 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and for an hour before the funeral Wednesday at the church.
