Connie White, 68

Connie Christine White, 68, of Portsmouth, graduated to be with Jesus on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at her home. She was born Aug. 2, 1944, in Rockwood, Tenn., a daughter of the late Rafe Gilchrist and Louise Roddy Lewis.

Connie was a Christian and a homemaker. She was also a member of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

Her husband, Harold Gene White, Sr., whom she married Jan. 11, 1966, preceded her in death Dec. 19, 1996.

Surviving are three sons, Mark Anthony Gilchrist of Portsmouth, Bryan Gene White of Columbus, and Harold Gene White, Jr. of Portsmouth; two daughters, Bonita McKinley and Lorna Ann (Chris) Poore, all of Columbus; a brother, Glen Gilchrist of Columbus; a sister, Denise Lewis of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Lewis.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Evangel Temple with the Rev. David Smith officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the RALPH F. SCOTT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth.
