Mary Yerian, 64

A memorial service will be held for Mary J. Yerian, 64, of Heath, on Oct. 6, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, 985 North 21st Street, Newark. Rev. David Myers will officiate. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.

Mary was born June 24, 1948, in Scioto County, Ohio, daughter of the late Walter and Lucille Shonkweiler Snedaker. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Ohio University in 1970. She taught at Heath Middle and High Schools for 30 years. She died Oct. 2, 2012, after a 17 year battle with cancer.

Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She impacted many lives as an educator. She liked to cook, sew, craft and antique. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, David Yerian; daughter, Heather (Scott) Risch; grandchildren, Cade and Hailey Risch; sisters, Martha (Kenn) Knore and Nancy (Charlie) Canter; brother, Tom Brant (Mary Ann); nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother, Ed (Judy) Snedaker.
