Northwest band performs Friday
The Northwest High School Concert Band will perform a Community Christmas Carol Concert at 7 p.m. Friday at the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 808 Offnere St. The band will perform Christmas carols with audience singing accompanied by the newly reinstalled Holtkamp pipe organ. Guest performer will be Becky Climer at the pipe organ and harp. Local band directors Ryan Ervin of Wheelersburg and Josh Learn of South Webster will be soloing on trumpet with the band.

Christmas bazaar will be Saturday
The United Methodist Women of McDermott United Methodist Church will have a Christmas bazaar from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday at the church activities building. There will be a selection of crafts, gifts, decorations and a sweets table. The menu will include turkey and dressing or chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cranberries, slaw, roll, beverage and dessert. Cost will be $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Take out orders will be available.
Saint Paul church sponsors concert
Members of the Saint Paul (Ky.) Church of Christ in St. Paul, Ky., will host the 13th annual Christmas Gift to Portsmouth at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts, 940 Second St.
This year's concert will feature recording artists Art and Jeff Bush, Tracy Tooley, Steve Foster, the Billiters, Jennifer Ramey, the Grace Galls, Rebecca Rutledge and the Diller Sisters. Danny Bentley will serve as master of ceremonies.
After intermission Randy Roberts and Lacey Strafford Curtis will present the St. Paul Award for outstanding community service to radio personality Steve Hayes and Barbara Hogan, associate publisher of the Portsmouth Daily Times.
