Thoughts of summer boredom and nothing to do? Think again. They Boneyfiddle Arts Center at Court and Second streets in Portsmouth has a summer season of events planned including guest artists, music, lectures, classes and exhibits.

A drumming session led by The Edge Drummers will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 25.

Jewelry artist Jeanie Begley is offering a class in creative jewelry making from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 30. Ages 12 and up are welcome, with a cost of $25 plus materials required. Anyone interested in attending Begley’s classes in bead string, wire wrapping, bead embroidery and polymer clay jewelry may call (740) 935-9123 for more information, or sign up at the Boneyfiddle Arts Center.

The featured artist exhibit for June is Todd Reynolds’ One Man Show. His artwork has been described as “tough, nasty, gritty and non-redemptive” for its depth of emotion. The BAC has scheduled a series of outstanding featured artists throughout the rest of the year. And more than 25 artists’ work is on display at the Boneyfiddle Arts Center for the public to enjoy.

The BAC is sponsoring its first “Through Fresh Eyes” Photography Contest. The theme is “Summertime.” Entrants must be amateurs who are not employed in the field of photography and have never professionally sold their photographs. Participants must live within 85 miles of Portsmouth, and have until Aug. 5 to submit photographs to the contest. Winners will be announced Aug. 12, with photographs on display until Sept. 12.

More information on any of these programs is available by calling the Boneyfiddle Arts Center at (740) 372-4210.

Excellent Green machine, but who do they have to draw from, for customers?

Businesses can be the best, but if they do not have the customers, they will fail.

And that is Scioto County. No businesses and industry, just scrambling to do their job when the economic growth and development people of the city and county are not doing their jobs, sucking off the dole.

That makes "burnout" guaranteed. guaranteed

Watch them........................
