Shawnee State senior setter Haley Halcomb entered the weekend's St. Francis Invitational 162 assists shy of 5,000 for her career. The four-year starter and Honorable Mention All-American reached the milestone in the Bears' final game against Indiana-Southeast.

Over the weekend, she amassed 177 assists, including 57 assists in the Bears' loss to NAIA No. 12 ranked Indiana Tech.

On top of the milestone, Halcomb, Heather Koehler and Tiffany Dailey swept the most recent Mid-South Conference Player of the Week awards released on Monday.

Halcomb was selected as the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Player of the Week along with being named MSC Setter of the Week. This is Halcomb's first player of the week honor, while she has been named setter of the week four times.

Koehler — who earned her first conference weekly award of the season -- is the MSC Hitter of the Week, while Dailey picked up her third MSC Libero of the Week honor.

On the season, Halcomb has accumulated 1,254 assists. She ranks fourth in the NAIA with 11.1 assists per game and 10th into total assists. Halcomb broke SSU's record last season for assists in a season (1,382) and already holds the Bears' career assist record.

During her tenure at Shawnee State, Halcomb has also accumulated 1,513 digs, 277 kills, 119 blocks and 116 service aces.

The Bears, which leads the MSC East Division by two and half games over the University of Rio Grande, travels to West Virginia Tech and Pikeville this week for conference games.
