Charles Ray Schellenger, 84, of South Point, OH, passed from this life surrounded by his family Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at his residence.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at Woodland Cemetery, with his son-in-law, Robert G. Payne officiating.

Charles was born June 21, 1926, in McDermott, OH, a son of the late Frank and Trecie Henry Schellenger. He was a WWII Navy veteran, a retired train master from N&W Railroad, and a member of the Community of Christ Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Eichenlaub and Wanda Boldman.

Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Tabor Schellenger; four children, Charles R. Schellenger Jr. and his wife Susan, Frank Schellenger, David Schellenger and his wife Wanda, and Emily Payne and her husband Robert; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elizabeth Brown.

Charles was loved and respected by many and his family will dearly miss him.
