Born Nov. 15, 1925, in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Cora Fields Abdon and was formerly employed at Williams Manufacturing Co. and BancOhio. Esther was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, Eric D. Bowling in 1984; brothers, Harold E. and Carl Edward Abdon; and sisters, Doris Louise Abdon, Ethel James and Garnet Howard.
Surviving are a brother, Leroy Abdon of Portsmouth; and sisters, Phyllis Price of Shelbyville, TN, and Norma Darby and Hazel Sorrell, both of Columbus.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Portsmouth 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday.
