Robert W. "Boody" Bailey, 53, of Portsmouth, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, in SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. He was born in Scioto County Oct. 6, 1956, a son of the late Robert Thurman Bailey and Wilma Fitch Bailey.

He was a carpenter and a construction worker.

Surviving are three sons, Joshua Bailey and Christopher Bailey, both of Jackson, Ohio, and Justin Bailey of Orangeburg, S.C.; a daughter, Misti Bailey, also of Orangeburg, S.C., two brothers, James Bailey and Keith Bailey, both of Portsmouth, Ohio; and two sisters, Rhonda Collier of Portsmouth and Michelle Shaffer of Lucasville, Ohio; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at the First Church of the Nazarene in Portsmouth, Third and Brown streets, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Friends may call at the church from 6 p.m. Thursday until time for the service.

Services were by the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky.
