Louise French, 76, of Raceland, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 in the Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett, Texas.

Mrs. French was born Sept. 8, 1933, in Raceland, Ky., a daughter of the late Clifford and Gertrude Stephenson Snoddy. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Mae Smith and Ella Marie “Dutchie” Snoddy; and three brothers, Harry Lee Snoddy, Robert Snoddy and Bill Snoddy.

She was a former employee of Super Quick in Flatwoods, Ky., and Colvin’s Grocery in Raceland, Ky., and attended the First Baptist Church in Ironton.

Surviving are Stan French of Raceland, Ky.; five daughters, Linda (Clifford) Jenkins of Ironton, OH, Sandee (David) Justice of Houston, TX, Patricia (Lefty Carl) Miller and Cathy (Daryl) Dye, both of Flatwoods, KY, and Connie Sue (Danny) Wells of Rowlett, TX; four sons, Danny French (Kim) of Ironton, OH, Ronnie French and Jerry French, both of Raceland, KY, and Greg (Gena) French of Wheelersburg, OH; one sister, Helen Dowery of Oklahoma City, OK; 23 grandchildren; 17-great-grandchildren, and a host of very special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at the Evans Funeral Home in Raceland, KY, by the Rev. Dennis Strawn. Burial will be in the Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, KY.
