Genevieve Thomas, 72, of Williamson, W.Va., died Saturday, July 31, 2010, in Huntington, W.Va.

She was born Aug. 11, 1938, in Ransom, Ky., a daughter of the late Ronald and Grace Ison Phillips. She was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist Faith.

She is survived by two sons, Ricky D. Thomas and Johnny F. Thomas and wife Bonnie, all of South Webster; a daughter, Donna D. Wilburn and husband Kevin of Pageland, S.C.; two sisters, Janice Blevins of Williamson, W.Va., and Jean Phillips of Louisa, Ky.; two brothers, James Phillips of Portsmouth and Tommy Phillips of South Webster; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her former son-in-law, Doug Adkins.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Franklin Thomas; a son, James R. Thomas; a daughter, Linda Thomas Adkins; three sisters, Magdeline Hill and her husband Martin Hill Jr., Loretta Phillips and Marie Phillips; a brother, Merlin Phillips; two grandchildren; and five infant brothers and sisters.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston, with Pastor Doug Adkins officiating. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 10 to 11 a.m. at D.W. Swick in New Boston.
