Craig J. Opperman, P.E., Scioto County engineer, announced the work scheduled for the week of Monday, July 26, through Friday, July 30, at his office.
The Stimulus Program — Griffin Pavement Stripping will be stripping on Dogwood Ridge Road between Lick Run Lyra Road and Hammerstein Road, Dixon Mill Road between Slocum Heights Road and Ohio 140, Gallia Pike between Ohio Furnace and Lafayette Lane, Scherer’s Hollow, between the corporation limits and Lucasville Minford from Blue Run to Ohio 335. Traffic will be maintained.
Paying by Contractor — The Shelly Company will be paving on McDermott Pond Creek between the Railroad Crossing in McDermott and Ohio 104 and Dogwood Ridge between Hammerstein and Ohio 140. Traffic will be maintained.
Pavement Marking (weather permitting) — Oglesby Construction Inc. will be continuing the project by stripping, marking school zones and railroad crossings on various county roads.
Concrete Pipe Installation — Lucasville-Minford Road, County Road 28 in Jefferson Township, will be closed Tuesday, July 27, through Thursday, July 29, both day and night. The section of the road to be closed in from Lang Lane to Cook Road. County engineer’s crews will be installing a concrete pipe.
Ditching — Rocky Fork in Brush Creek Township and Lucasville-Minford in Jefferson Township.
Guardrail Repair and Berm Work — Lucasville-Minford in Jefferson Township
Mowing — Dry Run and Nauvoo-Pond Creek in Union and Washington townships; Slab Run and Shepherd Fork in Washington Township; Bussey Road in Porter and Vernon townships; Turkey Foot and Germany Hollow in Vernon Township; Lick Run Lyra in Bloom, Porter and Vernon townships.
Bridge Replacement — Shonkwiler Road, Township Road 190 in Jefferson Township, continues to be closed through Aug. 20, both day and night, located 0.04 mile from Miller’s Run Fallen-Timber Road, 2.00 mile from Pike County. County engineer’s crews will be replacing the bridge.
Hayport Road, County Road 257 in Porter Township, continues to be closed both day and night. Bridge is located 0.63 mile from west end of U.S. 52, 0.08 from Keyport Road, 2.29 miles from the east end of U.S. 52, 1.90 miles from Burkes Lane and 0.32 miles from Meadows Lane. Closed for replacement of bridge by DGM Inc. with project oversight by Ohio Department of Transportation. Detour provided via U.S. 52, open on both ends.
