She was born March 20, 1922, in Blaine, Ky., to the late Reason Jay Lyon and Cynthia Boggs Lyon. She was a member of Garden City Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph D. Priode, on July 13, 1982. They were married Sept. 9, 1941, in Portsmouth.
She is survived by two sons, Allan (Gwen) Priode and Carl (Cathy) Priode; one brother, Paul Lyon; one sister, Bernice; and six grandchildren, Steve Priode, Michelle Williams, Jason Priode, Chris Priode, Jennifer Priode and Angelitia Edwards; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Delbert Lyon, Conard Lyon, Howard Lyon, Woodrow Lyon and Homer Lyon and sisters, Effie, Belvia, Dena and Izetta and grandson, Terry Joe Priode.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 17, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Garden City Freewill Baptist Church, with Pastor Blaine Etterling officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church one hour before the service Saturday.
