Culvert Replacement is under way

Ohio 73 in Scioto County is now closed for a culvert replacement project, and the closure will be in effect through early next week.

Crews from the ODOT’s Scioto County Highway Maintenance Facility are replacing a culvert at the 13.04-mile marker on Ohio 73, and the route is closed between County Road 48, Arion Road, and Township Road 121, Wright’s Run Road, south of Otway.

Although the closure was scheduled to be in effect through the end of the business day Friday, the planned closure has now been extended through next weekend in order to allow the concrete, which will be used to repave the roadway, additional time to cure before the route is reopened to traffic.

Ohio 73 will remain closed until the end of the business day June 28 or approximately 4 p.m., and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of Ohio 348 and 104.

For information on additional lane and road closures due to construction, accidents, flooding or other traffic-related events, visit Buckeye Traffic on ODOT’s Web site at www.buckeyetraffic.org
